What Is Laser Vein Treatment?

Laser Vein Removal Therapy treats a broad range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly and safely.

What Does Laser Vein Therapy Treat?

Aesthetics by Summit’s laser can treat spider veins, reticular and benign vascular lesions - such as venous lakes and hemangiomas.

Venous lakes are purple lesions that often appear in the lips or on the face in sun exposed areas. Hemangiomas are red raised lesions that look like red moles.

Treatment areas include face and body, most commonly legs.

How Does a Laser Vein Treatment Work?

Our Cutera Laser -at Aesthetics by Summit -delivers pulses of light energy. This energy causes the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel. The vessel reabsorbed by the body. Blood will then be redirected to veins that reside deeper below the skin’s surface, restore their natural location.

What Is the Laser Vein Procedure Like?

Most patients experience stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. Although no local anesthesia or pain mediation is typically required, we can discuss this option at your consultation. Following the treatments, the pain is minimal to nonexistent.

How Far Apart Should I Schedule My Treatments?

Depending on the severity of the veins to be treated, 1-5 treatments would yield optimal results, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.

What Can I Expect After my Procedure?

After your Laser Vein Treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months following treatment. Most patients find that most of the treated veins have shown significant improvements within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months. Over time, it is possible for new veins to appear, but these too can be removed by the Cutera Laser at Aesthetics by Summit.
