IPL Photofacial improves sunspots and skin discoloration. Uneven skin tone, spider veins, rosacea, spider angiomas & acne can all be treated with the IPL Photofacial treatment. Treated areas: face, hands, arms and decollete.
How Does the IPL Laser Work?
IPL stands for intense pulse light. The light is pulsed into the skin. The bright light draws out the pigment-producing cells and disperses the uneven pigment. The converted heat from the light energy allows for controlled damage to the the pigmented lesions. The treatment also promotes the production of collagen.
What Is the Photofacial Procedure Like?
Your Photofacial - at Aesthetics by Summit - is fast with no downtime. During the procedure, you will be provided with protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the intense light. For additional comfort, we will also add a layer of cool gel prior to the treatment. Normally this procedure is tolerated very well, and no numbing agents are needed. How Far Apart Should I Schedule My Treatments?
Depending on your individual skin condition, 3-6 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart will yield optimal results.
What Can I Expect After my Procedure?
After your procedure, you may experience a mild redness to your face for up to one day after this treatment. The skin will continue to heal itself after the procedure is over, with the full effects being seen after several days. Following your Photofacial, take extra care about your sun exposure.
